Felix’s Oyster Bar – Bourbon Street, New Orleans
If you're wandering down Bourbon Street and craving fresh seafood with that unmistakable New Orleans flair, Felix’s Oyster Bar is the place to go. We grabbed a table out on the porch—great for soaking in the energy of the Quarter without being swallowed by the chaos. The breeze, the street sounds, and a cold drink in hand set the perfect tone for what turned out to be a standout meal.
Chargrilled Oysters – The Undeniable Star ⭐
The moment these hit the table, we knew we were in for something special. These chargrilled oysters are everything people rave about and more—perfectly smoky from the grill, bubbling with butter, garlic, and herbs, and topped off with a generous layer of parmesan that crisps up just enough around the edges. Each bite was rich and savory, with just the right briny punch. You can’t come to Felix’s and not order these. Honestly, we could’ve made a whole meal out of them alone.
Beet Salad – Fresh and Bright

My wife went with the beet salad, and it was a fresh surprise. Earthy roasted beets paired beautifully with juicy mandarin oranges, sweet cherry tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, and a drizzle of herbaceous pesto. It was colorful, light, and refreshing—especially with the creamy balsamic dressing on the side. A perfect option if you’re looking to balance out the richness of the oysters or just want something a little different.
Atlantic Salmon – Clean, Crispy, and Comforting

Our son ordered the Atlantic salmon, and it came out beautifully seared, skin-on, and drizzled with a slightly sweet glaze. It was plated over a bed of sautéed corn, green peas, and what tasted like bits of smoky bacon—comfort food with a fresh twist. The salmon was cooked just right, tender and juicy with a crispy skin that held its own. He loved it, and we were all sneaking bites off his plate.
Final Thoughts
Felix’s hits that perfect sweet spot of laid-back but dialed-in. The service was friendly, the food came out quick, and every dish delivered—from light and fresh to rich and indulgent. Sit on the porch if you can; it adds to the charm. But no matter where you sit, just make sure you start with the oysters. They’re worth the trip alone.
